專案摘要/目標
The Office of Sustainable Development and Social Responsibility, NCU hold the "The Planet of Green Life: Where Happiness, Nature, and Knowledge Bloom Together" Workshop on June 15, 2025. The event, centered around the theme "Big Hands Holding Little Hands," invited faculty, alumni, and local residents to lead children in exploring and understanding the rich plant ecology within NCU campus.
專案成果
NCU campus is aboundant in natural resources. The Office of General Affairs stated that the university has planted over 7,000 trees and has preserved large areas of grassland and green spaces, providing a good habitat for animals.
Over 20 people participated in the workshop, with all children being elementary school students. The workshop took place in the afternoon and was divided into 2 main parts: "Campus Walking Tour" and "Plant Game Challenges." The campus walking tour started from the Education and Research Building, proceeding past Hundred Flower Stream, the Main Library, and the outside of the softball field, before returning to the starting point, forming a square-shaped route. This allowed parents and children to explore the campus plants and distinctive landscapes together.
During the Game Challenge, participants learned about various campus plants through interactive activities. These included Pine, which symbolizes National Central University (NCU), the Hoop Pine located at the main entrance of the Main Library, and the Paperbark tree found by Hundred Flower Stream. This "edutainment" approach, combined with hands-on creation using readily available materials, not only deepened participants' understanding of NCU's plant life, but also increased public awareness of environmental sustainability and ecological conservation. After the workshop, participants returned the plant materials used in the walking tour and challenges to the campus green spaces, embodying the principle of "taken from nature, returned to nature."
