NCU, Taipower Partner to Build Model Resilient Microgrid Campus

In a major push toward its 2050 net-zero emissions mandate and campus energy security, National Central University (NCU) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for the "University Energy Conservation and Power Resilience Project." On March 13, 2026. The agreement was signed by NCU President Shu-San Hsiau and Taiwan Power Company (Taipower) Chairman Wen-Sheng Tseng, signaling a comprehensive partnership to set a new benchmark for green campuses in Taiwan.

Under the framework, NCU and Taipower will collaborate on deploying campus microgrids, advancing energy storage applications, and automating power dispatch. The initiative aims to build a robust energy infrastructure capable of optimizing daily efficiency while enhancing power grid resilience during disruptions.

In recent years, National Central University has consecutively won multiple accolades, including the "National Sustainable Development Award." In the future, it will integrate the university's "Graduate College of Sustainability and Green Energy" to continually deepen practical cooperation with Taipower and cultivate power and energy management talents with international competitiveness. Through tangible energy-saving results and resilience building, NCU thrives to fulfill its commitment to achieving 100% carbon-neutral campus by 2050.
