Policy on plastic waste reduction

NCU implemented the plastic restriction policy in accordance with the relevant regulations issued by Department of Environmental Protection.

For example, cafeteria on campus offered at a discounted rate for customers who brought their own containers, and no disposable tableware in on-campus restaurants, while no free plastic bags for convenience store and photocopy shop, and part of restaurant supplies reusable containers for conference meals. Environmental requirements are incorporated into contracts, requiring outsourced vendors to comply with policies on plastic reduction, recycling, and other sustainability practices. 

Also, in compliance with the EPA's policy to reduce single-use products at the source, notices were sent on Aug/18 and Aug/20, 2025 to level 1 Offices on campus to implement measures reducing disposable tableware and bottled water.
