The service-learning course “Community Practice in Smart Healthcare” introduces students to the fundamental concepts and practical applications of smart healthcare technologies, including gait analysis, medical image processing, and brainwave analysis.
Through hands-on learning, students explore how technology can support holistic health assessment and disease prediction. Following the technical instruction, students participated in two field service visits on April 18 and May 19, 2025, at the Prader-Willi Syndrome Association.
By applying the knowledge and skills acquired in class, students conducted smart healthcare measurements and provided health education for individuals with rare diseases. This experience enabled students to connect interdisciplinary knowledge with real-world community needs, while developing their ability to apply technology in meaningful social practice and community health services.
